Teamwork and allowing God to use each of our members’ gifts to the edification of the entire church is a real blessing that Sycamore has been given. This teamwork starts with our Pastoral Team. Each of these 3 men has very different gifts, but the same spiritual authority in the church. They serve the church as a unit, as a team, and they speak as one voice.
Each of our Pastors teach, lead services, preach, and counsel our church spiritually. We invited you to read about each one of these men individually in the section below and read their inspirational thoughts in each ones own "Pastor Blog".

Pastor Don:

Don Washam is the founding Pastor of Sycamore. The church was started by his family and two other families over 20 years ago in the basement of a house. Pastor Don has been in the ministry for the past 40 years and is the heart and soul of the church. The church’s gift of service comes from Pastor Don’s service oriented gift in being a Pastor. He has been there for the birth of all the babies, been there for each part of the buildings being built, been there for each need, each hurt, each lawn needing mowing, every spiritual challenge, and each hospital visit. Pastor Don has married many of us, and buried our loved ones. We are privileged to have had such a servant of the Lord as our Pastor for the past 20 years. Pastor Don has the gift of evangelism and the gift of service, in other words, he REALLY wants you to know God in a personal relationship.

Pastor David:

David Burch has a background in ministry with youth and families. He has previously served Sycamore as Minister of Youth, and also as Associate Pastor. He is passionate about communicating the Word of God through teaching and preaching, and about seeing the potential in people. Pastor David gets excited about helping people achieve the kind of abundant life that God intends for us all as His children. David is bi-vocational and ministers full-time to children and families who have been affected by the trauma of abuse and neglect through his work as Community Based Services Director with MBCH Children and Family Ministries, an affiliate of Missouri Baptist Children’s Home. His educational background includes degrees in youth ministry, education, and marriage and family counseling. Pastor David married the most beautiful girl he ever met, and they have been married for 17 years and have two children.
