Who is Sycamore?
Sycamore is a church focused on being obedient to the Bible and the institution God intended for the church to be. As simple as that seems, it takes us to the Book of Acts in the Bible where God set up the church. The body of believers called the church is so close to the heart of God, it is called the bride of Christ in the Bible.
God’s desire to restore His creation back to relationship and fellowship with Him is overwhelmingly demonstrated in His Church. Sycamore’s Mission Statement is TCL. Transforming Lives (through) Connections. Connection to people seeking God, and connection to God himself. The Bible tells us God is in the business of transforming our lives to be like His Son Jesus Christ.
Sycamore sees itself as a community church, a family church, not a fancy show, or a promise of a perfect life. Sycamore is about one beggar telling another beggar where he/she found bread. Sycamore is full of people who have hurts, problems, and pain. But, in that brokenness we have found the healing, restoration, and joy found in a life in service to Christ. Real people, with real challenges, find the REAL truth. God’s love is not a program or even a feeling; it’s the creator of the universe indwelling my life individually through the person of His Son Jesus Christ.
The people of Sycamore believe that the Joy of the Lord is our strength, that we are blessed to be a part of the institution God gave us called the church. Sycamore is not perfect, but the people are seeking God diligently and God is honoring obedience by blessing us beyond what we can imagine or contain. We invite you to meet our eternal family; it would be our pleasure to call you family!
